Report of Regents Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Committee to The Board of Regents

Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Committee Members 
Regent Cea, Chair, Regent Tilles, Regent Norwood, Regent Chin, Regent Collins, Regent Reyes, Regent Mittler, Regent Tanikawa, Regent Catania, and Regent Hale.

The Adult Career and Continuing Education Services (ACCES) Committee held its scheduled meeting on February 12, 2024.  All members were present except Regent Susan W. Mittler, who was excused.  Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr., Regent James E. Cottrell, Regent Frances G. Wills, and Regent Aramina Vega Ferrer also attended the meeting.

ACTION ITEMS

New York State Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) 2024-2027 NYS WIOA Combined State Plan [ACCES (A) 1] - Department staff presented the 2024-2027 WIOA Combined State Plan that included updated information on required programmatic changes and data that will affect ACCES’ Vocational Rehabilitation and Adult Education programs.  If approved, the 2024-2027 New York State WIOA Combined State Plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Labor in March 2024 and will become effective July 1, 2024.

The Committee recommends that the Board of Regents approve the 2024-2027 NYS WIOA Combined State Plan.

The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION FOR ACTION BY FULL BOARD

The ACCES Committee recommends, and we move, that the Board of Regents act affirmatively upon each recommendation in the written report of the Committee's deliberations at its meeting on February 13, 2024, copies of which have been distributed to each Regent.
